Yesterday was our first day out on the bikes since Spring has arrived.  I am super proud to say that Mills has mastered peddling!!  She confidently starting peddling her purple trike with ease.  No one had to tell her how to or anything!!!  Big girl just climbed on and rode with the big kids!!  Baby girl is growing up!

Simple Valentine's Day T-shirt

So, I had this idea to make an easy Valentine's Day shirt from a tutorial I saw on Pinterest for felt flowers.  This shirt took about 30 minutes to make in total and it turned out Super Cute!!!!
So here we go...

First the supplies:
  • Hot glue gun
  • 3-4 sheets of felt (4 for a $1.00 at Hobby Lobby)
  • T-Shirt ($6.00 at Target)
  • Heat Bond- Ultra bond
Total Cost:  $8.00

Step 1:  Cut a felt heart old school style:  fold in half and cut half heart.  Unfold and Voila!

Step 2:  Use Heat Bond and attach to back of heart

Step 3:  Iron Heart onto front of T-Shirt. I like mine to be close to the top-  not directly in center

It should look like this...
Step 4:  cut circles out of felt

Step 5:  Bunch the felt into a bud shape.  It should look like this....

Step 6:  Cut the corner from the bottom, add a dab of hot glue, and add to the felt heart, holding for about        10 seconds.

Continue to cluster them until the heart is full... Should look like this...

Early Morning Praise!

This is from Sunday morning...  Mills woke up singing praises to the Lord!!  Just in case you can't quite make out the words... This is what she is singing:

He's the Lily of the Valley
He's my bright and morning star
He's the Rock of my Salvation
(skipped a verse)
I don't care what people say
I'm gonna love Him anyway...
Repeat
Repeat
Repeat!

Excuse my creepy voice at the end!  I lost it last Thursday and I think I finally found it today!

Weekend Tales

So, this has been a crazy good weekend.  Crazy at times, Good at times.   I have gone from picking the girls up from school on Friday, their all day- "nap" at school day, and having Giulianna cry the entire way home and for an entire hour after we got home, because she was so tired she couldn't form a sentence, to getting a new silver swing arm Ralph Lauren lamp for the living room that I LoVe.  We had a playdate with the Wileys Saturday morning and  took the kiddos to Matt's parents on Saturday night for a little break to have some shopping time to ourselves.  This morning while getting the girls ready for church, Mills threw a wooden pretend yogurt at me and hit me square in the nose from about 8 inches away.  I seriously thought my nose was broken, but somehow I got it together and we made it to church on time.  We had a fantastic lunch at the campus Italian Restaurant, Little Italy,( I had to include that detail because I had a fabulous Eggplant Parm over Spaghetti for $5.95)!  All in all it was a great weekend... good times, great peeps!

Mills says the darndest things....

Mills is such a funny two year old!  I don't even think she realizes how funny she is but I do know that she likes the laughs.  So, if I had to predict things today, I would say that Mills is going to be the funny one...  Case in point:  Last night we were getting ready for their bath.  Giulianna was already in the tub and I was having to chase Mills down to get her out of her clothes.  Mills was having a terrible time taking off her own dress, it was long sleeved and even though she has gotten good at taking off shirts, dresses are a bit more complicated.  She won't let me touch her, or come near her for that matter...or she completely looses it and starts running from me with her head stuck halfway down the neck of her dress.  I convince her that I will sit on the coffee table and just talk her through it and she agrees without saying a word.  She has climbed on the couch, crying with frustration so even she realizes the hand she's been dealt. I talk her through pulling her arms up through the sleeve one at a time and she is super proud when she gets to the point that she can pull it down and off by herself.    The smile on her face was priceless! Beaming with pride!!  I'm pretty glad its done too.. (WoW, that was stressful)... Then she looks up at me, while taking her leggins' off and says "Don't tell Daddy I gettin' nakid... or I will freak out."  ...pause... "for real".   I MEAN, seriously.... What ???  Funniest thing ever...

Aren't these precious???

just another day...

The weekend flew by fast.  We had to take Mills to the doctor on Saturday morning because she was complaining of a sore throat.  The doctor said she has strep, although she tested negative on the strep test.  She felt it was just in the early stages and felt that it looked like strep.  I'm still not sure if she does or not, but she will be on antibiotic until she is feeling better.  I think this is only the second or maybe third time she has ever taken antibiotics.  She's been tired and sickly, so I'm hoping they do the trick!  Giulianna has been coughing too, so I hope it was caught and contained before it spread throughout the house!  Everything has been lysoled so  now we can only keep our fingers crossed!   On another note, today is the first day back to gymnastics and I am debating on whether or not they are in any condition to go... Giulianna has been moved up to the 5-6 year old class and is very excited about it.  This will be the first class that doesn't use the baby equipment and obstacle course that the gym uses for the little ones.  She will have a new teacher as well, so we may muster up the strength and go!  Never a dull moment!

Castles & Crowns shoot

Here they are!!  These are the pictures that will be featured in the Spring 2012 catalog!

My Girls are in Print!

So its official!  Both Mills & Giulianna will be featured in the Spring 2012 catalog for the children's clothing line Castles & Crowns out of Mobile, Alabama.  I'm so proud I could just bust!  Mills got a full page on the inside back cover and Giulianna got two shots, one group shot and one close up 3/4 page!  So exciting to have had this opportunity!  When I figure out how to post it, I will...  I have to convert a .pdf to a .jpg and well, lets be honest, that might take a minute!

We are the Champions.... my friends!!!!

Wow!  What an exciting night!  Alabama wins the 2011 BCS National Championship in a defensive battle with LSU!  Giulianna had a game prediction of 100-33 Alabama... and although she wasn't quit on target, it was indeed a beat down, 21-0 shut out over the Tigers!!   Roll TIDE to all the BAMA Nation!!  #14 in the History books!!

How fun are these??
ROLL TIDE!!!

Yep!  This makes my heart happy.  I think its the SEC football running through my veins!

Where is the love??

Today was a great lazy Saturday for me..  The girls were outside all morning long with their Daddy playing in the yard while he worked on his masterpiece.  (The never ending backyard  redo)...  So I got to shower/ dress/ drink a cup of coffee...  in PEACE.  Ahhh...  At lunchtime Mills comes running into the house and meets me in the hall.  I pick her up and am greeted with a head-butt right to the nose!  When I told her that she hurt Mommy, she looks at me with sad eyes and says "I just want to love you" in her sweet little manipulative voice. Completely devoid of any sincerity.  Where did she learn this???

Squinkie Found

So Giulianna has found the squinkie!!  After worrying about her swallowing the squinkie for two days, she found it on her bedroom floor!!  The funny thing is, that she still is unsure if she actually swallowed a different one or if she didn't.  I'm super excited that we didn't have to take a trip to the Emergency Room for a blocked passageway in her digestion system as I was envisioning for two days... Crisis Diverted.

The trouble with squinkies

So Giulianna, my sweet child that puts EVERY THING in her mouth, has now swallowed one of her new squinkies.  Squinkies, in case you are wondering, are tiny little soft rubbery collectibles, in this case, hello kitty figures, that children love to trade and tote around for no reason at all.  Collecting squinkies is the new thing.  The trouble is, that Giulianna and squinkies probably should have never mixed.  The temptation to eat one was just too much for her it seems and now I am stuck with the quandry of whether or not to call the pediatrician or just ride it out until it shows up elseware....
